Imagine my surprise this morning when I received an invoice from Dreamhost stating that I owed for a years worth of services and that if I didn’t pay up soon my services would be disconnected. I was just about to send an email to Dreamhost support when I came across this.
While I was somewhat relieved to learn that I didn’t owe $110, I was more disappointed that Dreamhost didn’t think to email their customers alerting them to the problem. What was even more disturbing though was the blog post by the person responsible for the error. Apparently, Josh thinks it’s alright to take a light hearted approach when explaining how he overcharged Dreamhost customers $7,500,000.
I’ve never been responsible for a $7,500,000 error myself, but I’m pretty sure this isn’t the way you should handle things. I think Dreamhost really needs to reconsider the way that they’ve approached this blunder.

With the news that Warner Brothers is going exclusively to Blu-ray there appears to be a major shift in the Blu-ray movement.
There is now speculation that Paramount will follow Warner Brothers by using an escape clause in their HD DVD exclusivity contract.
If Paramount makes the jump, this will only leave Universal and Dreamworks as the only major studios using the HD DVD format, something which should end the so called “Format War”.
This sounds like great news to me, and even better news for Sony and those that own PS3. Looks like it might be finally time to pickup a Blu-ray player.

With no Sunday Night Football on NBC this weekend I decided to check out the new American Gladiators. The show follows a similar formula as the previous one but with a few new changes. The main changes are the new hosts Hulk Hogan and Lala Ali, and the addition of water to some of the events.
I know there’s a writers strike but this show could really use some. The lines they were force feeding the contestants were awful, especially when you mix it in with Hogan saying “brother” every third word. The entire show comes across very scripted, although I’m not sure anyone could have planned Bonnie smacking her head into that pole during the eliminator.
Even though the show seemed very fake at times, it was still entertaining. The character “Wolf” definitely likes his job a bit to much. It was fun watching the contestants trying to climb the vertical treadmill while completely exasperated. The refs “giving him the business” reference was a bit over the top but at least they tried.
I might consider watching the show again, but the need to show more of the Assault event – that one rocks. If they did that and tazed Hogan every time he said brother I think I’d be satisfied.

A week or so ago Google introduced its new universal search. Pretty cool. Google’s newest creation however is, well… wow. Recently Google added a new “Street View” to Google Maps. Street View allows you to view a 360 panorama type view of a street as if you were really there. Currently, Street View is available in New York, Miami, Denver, Las Vegas, and San Fransisco.
It won’t be long till Google becomes self-aware.

Have you seen the new Nike basketball commercial with the airplanes? It has a pretty good song to it and a lot of people seem to be wondering what it is. The song is “Juelz Santana – The Second Coming”.

Isn’t it FANTASTIC? Honestly though, I think TNT’s Inside the Nba is the shiz and Barkley is what makes it great.

I was recently featured in my local campus Magazine The Reporter. It’s always nice to get some more coverage and Ralph the photographer for the article was fun to shoot with. Overall I was pretty happy with the way the story came out. I’ve got a local copy of the article saved here.
I also just got picked up by the multi-gaming orginzation 50 Calibre to play in their Quake division. There is a story about it over on GotFrag.
